Introducing our brand new venue for Startupfest 2019
Startupfest has had many homes, from a cruise ship terminal to a secluded oasis under grain silos to the iconic Old Port of Montreal to its own island—complete with a fleet of ships. We urge startups to push the envelope and try new things, and we’ve followed that advice ourselves, creating unimaginable spaces where you least expect them.
This year will be no exception. We’ve been working secretly on a home for the ninth edition of the event, searching for a place that offers room for our growing audience, spectacular views, and inspiring infrastructure we can transform.
This year, Startupfest will happen at Parc Jean-Drapeau on Île Notre-Dame. Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve is part of this spectacular park, and it’s where, fifty years ago, Montreal welcomed the world to Expo 67, showing the globe what might be possible in the coming century.

Getting to Startupfest
Best Option: By Shuttle
There will be shuttles operating from different spots in Montreal, every day Startupfest is happening, brought to you by Bus.com.
Parc Jean-Drapeau Metro Shuttle: This shuttle takes you from the Parc Jean-Drapeau metro directly to the entrance of the site.
Tour de la Bourse Shuttle: Hop on this shuttle in front of La Tour de la Bourse right by Square Victoria OACI metro.
Notman House Shuttle: For those deeper into the center of the city, we have a shuttle leaving from the Osmo Cafe at Notman House. Catch it on Clark, corner of Sherbrooke.
By Public Transport
You can take the métro on the yellow line, which leaves about every 10 minutes or less from Berri-UQAM station. Get off at Jean-Drapeau station and from there, you can either enjoy a 10-minute walk overlooking beautiful Montreal or wait for our shuttle to take you to the entrance of our site! The shuttle leaves from the Hélène de Champlain restaurant (300 meters away from the metro).
You can direct your Uber/Taxi to the Île Notre-Dame, Montréal, QC. We will be located at 65 Chemin des Floralies.
There will be space onsite to lock your bike. There are also BIXI stations nearby (close to Parc Jean-Drapeau station or the Casino).
By Car (least favourable option)
There will be parking available on Île Notre-Dame. You can follow the directions to the P1 parking on Île Notre-Dame. However, please think of our planet before taking your car, since there will probably be traffic and we have many other eco-friendly alternatives planned!
See the map and directions below. We recommend the metro or shuttles as your most convenient way to get here!
Note: If you’re staying in the Old Port, take the metro to Berri-UQAM from Place-d’Armes, or Champ-de-Mars!
Where should I stay?
The venue is easily accessible from the Old Port by car, bus, subway, and even bike. A basecamp in Montreal’s Old Port is perfect if you want to explore, what the city has to offer; you can also stay near the Berri-UQAM metro station for a quick trip on the métro underneath the St. Lawrence River, the river that connects the Atlantic Ocean to the Great Lakes. No matter what you choose, you’ll have easy access to Montreal’s excellent public transit; amazing restaurants; and a ton of after-hour activities. You can find our recommended accommodation here.
