Why Montreal?

Montreal is the perfect destination. In addition to a thriving tech startup ecosystem—home to some of the world’s biggest investments in breakthrough technologies like AI—the city is a thriving hub of festivals, food, and academia. Thousands of entrepreneurs join from around the globe, making it an amazing networking opportunity in a unique setting with a distinct festival vibe.

Get some one-on-one time with Dreamit Managing Director Andrew Ackerman while riding up to Startupfest

We’re excited to announce that Andrew Ackerman will be offering some awesome content on the bus! Andrew is a recovering consultant turned serial entrepreneur, startup mentor and angel investor. He is the Managing Director at Dreamit, currently in charge of the UrbanTech accelerator program. Andrew has also written for Fortune, Forbes, Propmodo, CREtech, AlleyWatch, Edsurge, The 74 Million, et. al. Andrew has founded two companies and has a keen appreciation for how hard it is to build a successful startup, even under the best of circumstances. He speaks Hebrew fluently as well as some Spanish, French, Japanese, and JavaScript.

Join the workshops :

  • Fine Tune your Elevator Pitch: Instead of rewatching Game of Thrones, make sure you have your A-game on by making sure your Elevator Pitch is as crisp, concise, and effective as possible. The best part? You don’t have a choice. Andrew will give this interactive workshop over the bus intercom so if you want to opt out, pack your noise canceling headphones.
  • Why Your One Pager Probably Sucks… And How To Fix It: Andrew Ackerman says 4 out of 5 One Pagers he sees are pretty awful so unless you think 80% of the One Pagers you see your fellow founders using suck, you are probably one of the first four. This is an interactive workshop so bring your one pager and be ready to share.
  • The Pitch Doctor: Book a one on one, 20 minute meeting with Andrew on the way up to Startupfest. Pitch your startup, get advice, ask about Dreamit – whatever you want. Andrew is stuck on the bus for 8 hours, so make the most of the opportunity.
